You may be wondering where we came up with Quinn’s name. Well since her daddy is Standing Stones El Tesoro Medicine Man we thought it would be fun to tie that into her name. And if you’ve ever seen an old episode of Dr Quinn Medicine Woman you may see what we did there ;)
She’s also out of Piper, and we see a lot of her momma in her. Maybe not the size (Piper is a big girl) as Quinn is a little thing, but definitely her exceptional bird finding ability in the field comes very naturally. She is also an excellent tracking dog and running pheasants don’t stand a chance!
From the beginning, Quinn stood out for her demeanor. As a puppy, she was incredibly sweet and easy to have around. She was the kind of dog that naturally gravitated toward people—content to settle in and be part of whatever was going on. There’s a reel we’ve shared before on social media of her curled up on the couch with the boys, and Kade putting his arm around her to cuddle her close. That sums her up well. She’s always had that off-switch and that willingness to be close.
Quinn may be young, but she has already hunted more than most dogs do their whole lives. She has been hunting in Kansas, South Dakota and Texas on quail (both bobs and blues), prairie grouse (both prairie chickens and shirttail) and pheasants.
Around the house and in day-to-day life, Quinn is easy to live with. She is sweet with our two little boys, playful with other dogs and puppies and calm and well behaved when just hanging out in the house.
Quinn represents the kind of dog we aim to produce—capable in the field, cooperative in training, and enjoyable to have around every day.
