Onyx is the complete package. He’s an easygoing, well-mannered companion at home who knows exactly how to turn it on the moment he hits the field. Around the house, he is calm, affectionate, and fantastic with children. He greets everyone who walks through the door like an old friend and is just as content napping under the bed as he is soaking up the sun in the backyard.

In the field, Onyx transforms into a driven and highly capable bird dog. From his sire, he brings cooperation, trainability, and style. From his dam, Breezy, he inherits power, grit, and an exceptional ability to find wild birds. He hunts with excellent range while staying connected and obedient, making him a reliable partner in any environment. He works seamlessly with other dogs and is known for his strong, stylish honor—flashy, steady, and consistent.

Onyx has proven himself across a variety of terrain, having hunted successfully in Iowa, Kansas, and Montana. Over him, four species have been harvested: pheasants, quail, sharp-tailed grouse, and Hungarian partridge. His bird-finding ability stands out, especially on wild birds, where his toughness and determination allow him to stay with difficult scent and produce birds others might miss. When he locks up on point, it’s with intensity and confidence—strong, stylish, and impossible to overlook.
